UNR Extension offers the town hall a small business advisory service on Wednesday | News from Carson City, Nevada

With the reopening of small businesses and the need to adjust their operations amid COVID-19 restrictions and economic challenges, the University of Nevada, Reno Extension is partnering with the Nevada Small Business Development Center to deliver an online town hall this week, “The Nevada SBDC and Business Advice.”

The event is part of a series of town halls and webinars for small businesses, “Dealing with COVID-19,” offered weekly, some in English, some in Spanish. Town halls start with a short presentation on a given topic, then participants network and lead the discussion.

This week’s town hall is Wednesday July 1 at 9 a.m. for English speakers and 2 p.m. for Spanish speakers. Panelists include:

– Diana Moreno, Nevada SBDC Business Advisor

– Anabel Navarro, Nevada SBDC sales advisor (2pm session only)

– Saul Ramos, Deputy Director of the Small Business Administration

– Reyna Mendez, trainer in extension business development

– Juan Salas, trainer in extension business development

– Mike Bindrup, Extension Research Associate

The Nevada SBDC provides confidential individual business advice to business owners. The Center hosts workshops and training events statewide and online, on business topics. Advisors support their clients in understanding data, forecasting, operations and compliance. The advice is free for any small business owner.

“The Nevada SBDC is always a great resource for our small businesses,” said Buddy Borden, economic development specialist with Extension’s business development program. “But especially now, with the challenges posed by the COVID-19 epidemic, it is important that our small businesses know the resources that SBDC has to offer and reach out to them for answers and advice. “

Town halls are free and usually last about an hour. To register for the July 1 session:
