Rebecca Lobina, continuing professional education and director of the Small Business Development Center at Northwest Missouri State University, was recognized by the University of Missouri’s Business Development Extension Program with two awards for her efforts to help small business owners.

Lobina was honored for being among SBDC’s top five professionals in terms of counseling hours, and she received the Wise One award in recognition of someone the SBDC network turns to regularly for advice. shrewd and thoughtful ideas. The awards recognize individual and team performance for the most recent year.

Based in St. Joseph, Lobina is a management and consulting professional who helps small businesses improve their processes, tax management, customer insight and achieve their annual goals through strategic planning and deployment.

“I am honored that my colleagues nominated and voted for me to receive the Wise One award,” Lobina said. “I try to give advice and bring my almost 14 years of experience with SBDC whenever I ask. It is a wonderful feeling to know that recognition comes from colleagues.

The Northwest SBDC serves an area of ​​nine counties in Northwest Missouri and focuses on helping economic development for businesses with fewer than 500 employees. It provides one-on-one business advice to small business owners and individuals, bringing Fortune 500 resources to area business owners at no cost to the company. The center also organizes conferences and workshops on relevant topics of interest to small business owners.
