The International Business, Marketing and Strategy (IBMS) department currently plays a leading role in developing and conducting international business, marketing and strategy research and student training for the school and university. Accordingly, the School is committed to supporting this strategy with the appointment of the Head of IBMS Department to contribute research, teaching and academic leadership capacity in these areas. The successful candidate will lead the IBMS department, which is a key part of our substantial new phase of growth for the school after successfully relaunching the MSc in International Business and Management and launching an MSc in Digital and Strategic Marketing in September 2019.

The successful candidate should possess a PhD in a relevant field and have significant research publication experience in peer-reviewed journals of substantial reputation. Ideally, the candidate should also have a very reputable external profile in the field of international business and have obtained external research funding. The candidate will be expected to lead and contribute to the development and direction of international business and marketing research at the school and university level, including proactive promotion and contribution to the strategic research ambition of the university to address global/societal challenges.

We seek candidates who have led and contributed to the development of world-class programs and delivered an exceptional education. The post holder should have successful experience of supervising and graduating PhD students and delivering teaching at all levels which will contribute to the leading FT graded distance learning MBA program of school. The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate business and community engagement activities with local and international businesses/organizations that will provide the University with an opportunity for meaningful interaction for relevant collaborative opportunities.
