Expanded business advice offered at HCC

The Haywood Community College Small Business Center has announced an expansion of business services. Starting June 1, the SBC will begin offering free, extensive counseling services to small business owners in Haywood County affected by the COVID-19 health crisis.

In coordination with the NC Small Business Center Network and Haywood County Business Resource Partners, the HCC SBC will launch the Restart, recover, rebuild for small businesses. The program will provide expanded counseling opportunities in a multitude of categories particularly suited to small businesses in Haywood County that have been affected by the economic effects of COVID-19.

In direct response to the COVID-19 economic crisis, the North Carolina General Assembly passed H1043, providing additional funding to small business centers for the express purpose of providing advisory services to businesses affected by the pandemic. . The program, made possible with this funding, will provide free advice, coaching, information and resources to local small business owners affected by COVID-19.

“The COVID crisis has had a profound impact on small businesses. Changing operational requirements, regulations, market perception and the small business climate are forcing many small business owners to step back, assess the field, pivot and break through, ”said Katy Gould, director of the Haywood Community College Small Business Center. “The program is a great opportunity to provide targeted psychological support to small business owners with the in-depth assistance needed to meet their unique business needs during restart, recovery and rebuilding.

Small businesses are going through a time of unprecedented need, where challenges such as managing employees, understanding the Paycheck Protection Program (P3) or other requirements for repaying loans and / or marketing their business. business in a rapidly changing consumer landscape are at the forefront. It is also a time of opportunity, where changing needs for services and supplies create new entrepreneurial spaces for creative and innovative individuals and teams.

The Reboot, Recover, Rebuild program was created to address these concerns and opportunities by providing consulting services in the form of CPA, legal, marketing, branding, stability and general business support. Applicants will also have access to professional content experts, one-on-one remote advice and 100% privacy.
