What We Do

PQM Consultants specialises in the development, interpretation and use of telecommunications Standards. As an independent, TIA Registered Consultancy, we:

Undertake strategic studies based on interpretation of telecommunication Standards;
Manage and execute Standards related projects;
Prepare System and Procurement Specifications that call up relevant Standards;
Develop new Standards on behalf of clients; and,
Provide custom training on subjects related to telecommunications Standards.

Our specialist area of expertise is Standards dealing with Corporate Networks. We are, we believe, the World's leading independent consultancy on strategies for the implementation and use of the QSIG / PSS1 signalling system. We advise clients in Europe and North America on equipment and network design projects that use QSIG / PSS1. We also participate actively in the development of the QSIG standards themselves. We can show you, for example, how to extend the QSIG signalling system to cater for your own proprietary features and services.

However, our expertise extends beyond QSIG and includes PABXs, terminal equipment, leased lines, ISDN, ATM, VPN, services, etc. Our list of typical assignments illustrates the topics we have provided advice and the types of assigments we regularly undertake.

We have also undertaken extensive studies into the use of SDL as a tool for design specification and validation. We are actively using UML in our system specifications. One of our partners, Steve Randall, is a Vice-Chairman of the ETSI Technical Committee "MTS" (Methods For Testing And Specification).
