TIA Registered Consultancy Scheme

The Telecommunications Industry Association's (TIA) registered consultancy scheme, recognised by TMA, TUA, DTI and OFTEL, offers potential clients an assurance that a firm of consultants has been vetted and approved against a set of criteria covering technical and management competence, independence, objectivity, impartiality, and integrity. A TIA registered consultancy abides by a specific Consultancy Code of Conduct and will ensure that projects are effectively managed, with objectives and responsibilities clearly defined.

PQM has taken an active role in the development of the Consultancy Code of Conduct and one of our partners, Steve Randall, is currently Chairman of the Consultancy Sector Specialist Interest Group, "SIG/8":

" As a consultancy practice operating in the Telecommunications arena, we believe that the Code of Conduct is long overdue and that it reflects the way that most genuine consultancies already operate. The Registration Scheme makes it so much easier for clients to make the right decision or, rather, to avoid making the wrong one, when selecting a consulting partner.

PQM Consultants does not offer the equipment specification, selection, planning and installation services that can be obtained from so many other skilled organisations. Much of PQM's work is of a strategic nature and, thus, is not available as evidence of capabilities. The TIA Registered Consultancy Scheme is a valuable marketing tool that gives us a seal of integrity and credibility backed by a strong procedure for redress if we fail to live up to the code
."

TIA has produced a short guide to choosing and using a telecommunications consultancy. This can be obtained from us or directly from TIA (tel: +44 1908 645000 fax: +44 1908 632263 email: info@tia.org.uk).
