QSIG: A Series of
Briefings
As independent consultants we have undertaken assignments for,
and talked to, a variety of organisations regarding
QSIG
, its use and implementation. We have a
network of industry contacts including manufacturers, network
operators, user organisations, and equipment consultants. We are
also active participants in international standardisation
activities for Corporate telecommunication Networks in general,
and for QSIG in particular. Over 10 years we have built up a
picture of the QSIG market and the state of QSIG implementation
throughout the industry. We have distilled this information into
a series of briefing papers:
-
Market assessment - comments, opinions, and analysis of
the market situation for QSIG and likely future
developments;
-
Current implementations - comparative information on what
QSIG functionality each vendor provides (vendors are not
identified by name);
-
Applications - a review of some typical QSIG
applications;
-
Vendors - a review of typical vendors of equipment
supporting QSIG. Material taken from press releases and
WWW pages of the companies concerned, their distributors
and partners;
-
Basic Call variants - summary of available standards and
specifications, including the different QSIG variants,
future standardization activities, and implementation
routes and options;
-
Supplementary Services - summarises available standards
for QSIG supplementary services. Includes a proposal for
a support strategy. A secondary brief describes 5 of the
most important supplementary services and ANFs;
-
Miscellaneous aspects - provides some comments on
miscellaneous aspects related to QSIG that do not fit
easily in the other briefs provided e.g.,
interoperability testing, activities / role of the IPNS
Forum;
-
QSIG Developers Forum - introduces the QSIG Developers
Forum.
