Steve Randall is the proprietor of PQM Consultants. Prior to launching PQM in 1991, he was Director of Systems Engineering with Mitel Telecom and has over 30 years' experience in engineering design and management. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society as well as a Chartered IT Professional.

For a number of years Steve was the Vice-Chair of the ETSI Technical Committee, "Methods for Testing and Specification", TC-MTS where he took part in a range of projects producing guidelines on the use of specification languages such as UML in the development of telecommunications standards. He took a leading role in the recent review of ETSI's Standards Engineering Process and has experience in interoperability issues, communications systems testing and security risk analysis and countermeasure specification in modern communications networks including Next Generation Networks (NGN) and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
